Total time:30minutes minutes

Quantity:4 persons

What you need (ingredients):

  • 350 ml cream
  • 150 gram MonChou
  • 125 gram Speculoos cookies
  • 6 tablespoons white caster sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons Speculoos pasta

USEFUL TO HAVE:

HOW TO MAKE IT (preparation method):

  • Grind 125 grams of Speculoos cookies in a food processor. Keep 25 grams aside and divide the rest over the bottom of 4 glasses and press slightly.

  • Beat the whipped cream until stiff with 2 tablespoons of white caster sugar.

  • Beat the MonChou in another bowl with the rest of the white caster sugar.

  • Keep about ⅓ of the whipped cream aside and stir the MonChou into the rest of the whipped cream.

  • Place the Speculoos pasta in a bowl and heat it in the microwave for approximately 10-15 seconds until the pasta is liquid (let it cool slightly if the Speculoos pasta is warm).

  • Divide half of the whipped cream/MonChou mixture over the base and divide the rest of the finely ground cookies over it.

  • Spread the melted Speculoos paste over it (keep a little bit aside for decoration if necessary).

  • Add the rest of the whipped cream/MonChou mixture and finally use a piping bag to pipe the portion of whipped cream that you have kept aside over the dessert.

  • Decorate as desired with a little (melted) speculoos paste, cookie crumbs and/or a cookie. Enjoy your meal!

Can I ask how big your glasses are? And how far in advance could you make this maximum?

    • Eef says:

      30 november 2019 at 00:36

I use small water glasses myself. You can make it a day in advance 🙂

it was very tasty, I still had a lot left over and I poured it over the top, but that made it quite strong, but it is still worth 5 stars

Hi Eef, I want to make this recipe for 6 people, do I have to do everything 1.5 times?
I think you made a double cookie base or 2 x cookie layers. or is that something you need to know yourself. gr. Marian

    • Eef says:

      27 February 2020 at 14:41

You can simply adjust the recipe from 4 to 6 people and the ingredients will be automatically converted for you 🙂
I put 2 layers of cookies through it, indeed, I thought it was tasty 😉

Hi, may I ask what whipped cream/MonChou is?
        Thank you kindly

        • Eef says:

          May 19, 2020 at 08:41

Whipped cream is whipped cream and MonChou is a type of cream cheese, available in Dutch supermarkets. You can replace it with cream cheese in this recipe if you like 🙂

  • Samira says:

    1 april 2020 at 07:38

    Wat is mounchou?

    • Eef says:

      11 april 2020 at 14:20

MonChou is a type of cream cheese, available in the refrigerator near the cheese in the Dutch supermarket.

    Hi!

Can I also use regular granulated sugar instead of white caster sugar?

    • Eef says:

      May 18, 2020 at 16:52

That is possible, but it dissolves less nicely than caster sugar, which is why I used it. If possible, use fine granulated sugar.

It's true, but it didn't look that good, but what matters is the taste and it was tasty

  • Kim says:

    18 augustus 2020 at 09:53

Can you also use a jar of already whipped cream (ready-made)?

    • Eef says:

      19 augustus 2020 at 08:55

I wouldn't recommend it because it often 'collapses' quickly when you mix it with the MonChou.

    Hoi,
I tried adding whipped cream to the whipped monchou, but it was a bit lumpy because of the monchou. How could this be otherwise?

    • Eef says:

      January 30, 2021 at 09:52

Yes, by beating your MonChou well and then adding the whipped cream, you will get a nice hom*ogeneous mass.

    She Bente

    • Eef says:

      March 7, 2021 at 10:08 am

Yes, this is quite a powerful dessert. If you go for a 4-course dinner, I would possibly halve the dessert per person.

    • Eef says:

Then it is no longer a speculoos dessert 😉

  • Marian says:

How big are the glasses used?
    Height and girth?

    • Eef says:

      3 april 2021 at 20:32

They're just water glasses. I'm not going to measure them if you don't mind 😉 You can use any type of glass, but water glasses are the best in terms of size.

how much is it for 6 people

    • Eef says:

That depends on where you get your groceries, I do not mention the prices of the recipes on my website.

  • Cyrelle says:

    18 november 2021 at 11:20

I am going to make this recipe for 8 people, I have adjusted the ingredients list to 8. However, I want to make this delicious dessert in an oven dish. Should I need any more ingredients? An oven dish is of course much larger than such glasses.

    • Eef says:

      18 november 2021 at 19:09

The recipe itself is generous so you should be able to make it, I think. Of course, it really depends on how large the baking dish you are going to use is. You can always make a little extra so you can be sure you have enough. As long as the proportions persist, things cannot actually fail.

  • Astrid says:

I don't quite understand the numbers. You write 4 glasses of 125 gram speculoos cookies, but if you serve 6 people that is immediately 1825 grams?? Is this correct?
I would like to know how much of everything I need for 6 people...

    • Anna - Team Eef Cooks Zo Anna says:

      18 december 2023 at 11:24

Hi Lilian, you can change the number of people in the ingredients list and the ingredients will then adjust automatically. In this case the amount of speculoos cookies is 187.50 grams in total, that is indeed correct.

Last year I made this recipe for the first time for my children's Christmas dinner at school. They thought it was fantastic and super tasty. This year I wanted to make something different, but nothing came of it. I had to make this dessert again for Christmas dinner at school! We made very small glasses. of 4 cl so that we had enough for the whole class.

Hi Cindy, I would indeed cover them and then store them in the refrigerator.
